Sporting Lagos can confirm the departure of a number of senior team players following the expiration of their contracts. Several of these players have secured deals with other clubs as free agents.
Following the conclusion of our debut NPFL season and the confirmation of our relegation to the Nigeria National League, a number of our squad members for the 2023/24 season have parted ways with the Club. As the majority of the players were under one-year contracts, their deals expired, allowing them to become free agents and pursue opportunities with other clubs within Nigeria and abroad.
Even in a challenging season, Sporting Lagos has proven to be a veritable platform, giving players the required visibility to get highly sought-after transfers.
We are now focused on the transfer market to bolster the squad ahead of our 2024/25 NNL campaign.
The Club wishes to express its gratitude to the below-listed players for all their contributions to our journey so far. We wish them success with the rest of their careers.
(We can also confirm that contract negotiations are ongoing with players not on this list. We will provide updates on these negotiations as they progress.)
